Looking For a Beer in the Area?

• Beer Menus - Best guide in the area for beer lists and calendar for beer events, especially since I am no longer maintaining the beer alert page here.

• Alex Hall's USA Good Beer Pages - Your MBAS 2006 President's own site, hosted in the UK but mainly about American craft beer (with an emphasis on cask ale), both locally and nationally. Includes The Gotham Imbiber, NYC's own award-winning craft beer magazine.

• The New York City Beer Guide - A guide to the New York City and environs beer scene. They list events, clubs, bars, brewpubs, and lots of other stuff.

• Pubcrawler - Planning to visit a city in the US, and don't know what beer bars or brewpubs to check out? Type in the city, type of bar, and get a list, including reviews. You can even write your own review when you come back!

• NYC's Best Beer. - Interesting site with some good maps for pubcrawling in NYC.

• American Beer Distributing - The best beer store in the entire city is located in Cobble Hill in Brooklyn. They also have an amazing collection of beer glasses for sale. They will deliver with a minimum order of $75.

• Bierkraft - Another find Brooklyn-based beer store with an excellent selection, located in Brooklyn Heights, and with weekly tastings.

• The Beer Hall - A Long Island-oriented beer blog. They will soon be putting out the the Long Island Craft Beer Guide.

• Ale Street News - Web page of the Northeast Brewspaper, which, in its hard copy form, publishes the Salty Dog comic strip.

• Celebrator - Web page of the West Coast Brewspaper.

• Brewing Techniques - A web version of the Late, Great Homebrewing Magazine, with extensive back issue coverage. Includes some articles by past club President George De Piro.

Beer on the Web

• Beer & Brewing Mining Company Home Page. A big supply of links covering all aspects of beer and brewing. Check out the club lists and see who won the "Best of the Net" award for this May!

• Beer Advocate.com - A great site, with reviews of beers, breweries, and bars from many members around the worldwide web.

• The Brewery - One of the major homebrew web pages. An extensive collection of information.

• The Real Beer Page - Another major web page. Extensive, and sponsors a number of other important pages.

• The Beer Hunter - Michael Jackson's web page.

• Homebrew Forum - A moderated discussion group on Homebrewing and beer-related topics.

• Spencer's Beer Page.   Another fact-filled web page.

• Boersma's Beer Page. A Netherlands beer site that maintains vast source of links to beer sites around the world.

• The NYC Homebrewers Guild - Long-established homebrewing club based in Manhattan.

• Professor Beer - George de Piro's educational site.

Belgian Beers

• Burgundian Babble Belt - A great newsgroup for people obsessed with Belgian Beer.

• Filip Geerts' Homepage - A great English-Language webpage from Filip Geerts, a resident of Brugge. Includes many beer links, and an amazingly thorough Belgian Pub Guide.

• http://www.belgianshop.com   "Real Belgian Beers for Beer Lovers" - If you can't make it to Beligum, you can order Belgian beers directly via this website. You will find many impossible-to-find in the US beers at very reasonable prices. The freight charges are not cheap, but when you add everything up, it's still pretty similar to what we pay here in the US for most Belgian beers.

• Monk's Cafe - The web page for the spectacular Philadelphia Belgian bar/restaurant, in this editor's opinion, possibly the best beer bar in the US.

• Bieres Artisanales - Web page for a spectacular beer store in Brussels. Check it out if you're going over there, or if you just want to drool over the pictures of bottles of beer you can't get here in the US.

• Peter Crombecq's Benelux-beerguide - A fun web page, with lots of info on Belgian Beer. Also a little out of date.

• La Brasserie d'Achoufe - Check out the Choufes and the wonderful beer they make. A lot of it's not in English, however!
